Really fast, really good food. The service is always very good, and I am always amazed at how quickly my food gets out to me. I have eaten here a few times now, getting something different each time and have never been disappointed. Very standard Mexican food selection, but done fast well and fresh.

Food was so so. Service was very slow. Stomach was starting to bother me before I left. Won't be back :(

The worst mexican food I have ever had. Refried beans had no flavor. Salsa tasted like tomato paste. Beef was flavorless and pasty. To add on the waiter was terrible not coming to serve us in a respectable time almost causing me to leave before eating. When he was available he was rude. I will never go there again and recommend even taco bell over them.

Stopped by here on Cinco de Mayo. This place was recommended to us by people who live there. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, seated, and chips and salsa were at the table. They were pretty good. I ordered the enchiladas with the green sauce. They were just ok, nothing special. Beans were ok, but no rice with the meal? We all were expecting rice. I managed to walk out of there with my meal and 3 beers for about $10.00. Pretty cheap. It is average Mexican food to me. After living in Texas for years, I am used to something a little better.

My wife and I came here (or one of the Real Hacienda chains) about once a week during undergrad, but we came to El Camino more frequently due to it's proximity to campus. We absolutely loved it there. I always (90% of the time) ordered the Chimichanga La Isla and it never got old. The food comes out super fast too. Usually when food comes out so quick you have to question the quality of the food, but that is not the case here. We loved it there and this place was one of the few things that we actually miss about Terre Haute. The staff is friendly, the food is great, the service is fast, and they are ALWAYS consistent. This was the type of place that you took friends and family to when they visited as this restaurant was available no where else.

Excellent Mexican food at great prices. We were driving through Terre Haute and found this place through Yelp. I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo; there were too many raw onions on the plate, but outside of that, everything on the plate was delicious. The only negative for me was that they don't serve Horchata - this is just something I ask for at every Mexican place.

We were visiting a friend at Union Hospital and stopped in on our way home. It has excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. Ask for the homemade hot sauce. It is not all that hot, but it is very good!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
